How to solve Invalid IMEI Problem on MTK Devices – In this Tutorial, you will learn how to solved Invalid IMEI Problem in MTK Devices. This problem usually comes when you try to flash a custom ROM and the ROM flashed the NVRAM region inside the device which, then, causes Invalid IMEI when the ROM Powers UP. Requirements:

• An (ROOTED) MTK Device with Invalid IMEI problem.
• A Computer with ADB Drivers installed on it.
• A Data Cable.
• MTKDroid Tools.
• Write down both IMEI’s from the back of mobile, carefully.

Procedure:

1. First of all, make sure you have a rooted MTK Device. To make sure, goto Play Store and download an app called “Root Checker“. Through that app, check if your device is rooted or not.
2. Download the tool from above and extract it on Desktop or someplace easily to be found.
3. Now open MTKDroidTools.exe as an Administrator.
4. On your device, goto Settings>Developer Options> Turn ON USB Debugging Mode and then select Yes for any confirmation.
5. Now Connect your device to PC via USB Data Cable.
6. Inside the MTKDroid Tools,  you will see the Application in this form. (Remember: If you’re on KitKat, you will have to allow USB Debugging permissions when you connect your device. Otherwise, it won’t appear in MTKDroid Tools.)

8. Make sure your device is recognized in MTKDroid Tools and after that press the ROOT button on the bottom right side of the Tool.
9. 
10. After clicking the ROOT button, click Yes and then in your DEVICE, Grant root permissions.
11. After granting the root permissions in the device, the Yellow-Rectangle in the bottom left corner of Tools should turn Green.
12. Now click on IMEI/NVRAM tab.
13. In the first box, insert your 1st IMEI and in the second box, insert your 2nd IMEI, very carefully.
14. 
15. Now click on the Replace IMEI button on the right side of the boxes and then click YES to continue.
16. When IMEI’s are written successfully, Reboot your device.
17. Hopefully, your Invalid IMEI problem should now be solved.

Try to reset your device:

Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

If this works and you get control of your sleep/wake button, great. If NOT and you suspect you have a bad sleep/wake button, you can enable AssitiveTouch which will float an on-screen button which you can use to mimic all the actual buttons on the device, including the sleep/wake button.

Settings>General>Accessibility>AssitiveTouch

Set this to ON

To shut down the device (a true power off), press the on-screen button, press "Device", press and HOLD "Lock Switch". This will power off the device (slide to power off) just as if you had powered it off using the actual sleep/wake button.

*NOTE:* In the case of a true sleep/wake button failure and the device has been powered off using AssitiveTouch, you'll have to power on the device (since you cannot use the actual button) by either:

1. Plugging the device into a PC's USB port
2. Pluggin the device into a working charger

I recently upgraded to Microsoft Windows 10 and found that iTunes no longer detected my iPod Touch or iPhone. Here’s how I fixed it.

1. Ensure the Latest version of  iTunes is installed.
2. Open “Control Panel“.
3. Select “Hardware and Sound“.
4. Select “Devices and Printers“.
5. Your iPhone or iPod should be displayed in the “Unspecified” section. Right-click it and select “Properties“.
   Note: If you don’t see your device listed here, ensure you have selected to trust the PC on the device and you are using a supported cable.
6. Select the “Hardware” tab, then click the “Properties” button.
7. From the “General” tab, select the “Change settings” button.
8. Select the “Driver” tab, then select “Update Driver“.
9. Choose “Browse my computer for driver software“.
10. Select “Browse…” then navigate to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers“. If you don’t have this folder, check in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers“.
    
11. Click “Next” > “Close“.

Your Apple device should now be detected successfully within iTunes.

FAQ

Why don’t I have the “Drivers” folder?
It is possible your installation of iTunes didn’t include it. Uninstall and reinstall iTunes and the folder should be re-created.
